Poet Survivor will be out across the world in 40+ stores online on December 20th. You will be able to stream it on all sort of websites and platforms including Spotify and Soundcloud, I will be putting it on my website and YouTube as well. It will probably be pirated real fast so I am sure you could find it online that way too.
The last 6 months has been the hardest in my life, struggling with depression and with the diagnoses of Bi-Polar and going through some growing pains and existential crisis’ that I’m sure a lot of people go through in their lives. In short it was just a year of realizing facts about life in which I never really put too much thought into. The name Poet Survivor is a reflection of myself throughout the year and going through this pain, whilst beautiful at times, it captures some of the thoughts I experienced.
I went back to the way I made my first album which was recording the album in my room, the quality of the production isn’t as good as “Family Ties” though I really just wanted to get this album out there. When the time comes to make another big production (Which the time will come) I hope it breaks through sound barriers… but for what it’s worth Mike Legere did a great job with what I gave him to mix and master
The name Poet Survivor is a reflection of myself throughout the year and going through this pain, whilst beautiful at times, it captures some of the thoughts I experienced. Poet Survivor is about being a musician and telling myself almost everyday that if I can get through making this album whilst still being sane enough and strong enough to see the day that it comes out, perhaps there is still hope left and a future to look forward to. Hopefully people can connect to something on this album and relate to it.
I would like to thank Mike Legere for mixing and mastering this album as it was integral into this creative process. You can e-mail him, firstname.lastname@example.org if you are in the Toronto area and need mixing and mastering. As well I would like to thank Braeden Miller for working on the song “Meadow” with me which included writing the lyrics, doing the instrumentation and laying down his vocals.
